The first Governance Plan

The MEC Governance Plan was approved by the Board of Higher Education.

  1. The College Council was established as the legislative body of the College.
  2. An Academic Review Committee was established to implement governance guidelines of the Board of Higher Education.
  3. The College-Wide Personnel and Budget Committees were established to advise the President on all questions related to the College budget and personnel matters.
  4. There are seven central units of academic administration, or Divisions, which offer instruction (Business and Secretarial Sciences; Health Sciences; Humanities; Natural Sciences and Mathematics; Social Sciences; Special Programs; Teacher Education.) In addition, there are the Library and the Division of Student Services.
  5. Six committees reporting actions to the College-Wide Personnel and Budget and/or the President are formed.
  6. Amendments and ratification procedure were defined.
